First Autumn Experience

Since I’ve forgotten to update my days here in Chester, AS USUAL, I decided to just write about the other days that I missed out on.

Autumn.

Prior to this, I haven’t experienced this season, because where I come from it’s either sunny or raining, but mostly sunny. I used to hate the heat because it gives me terrible migraines and the sticky feeling whenever you go out for even a minute. Now, I appreciate the warmth of the Sun because it’s so rare here. People would stare at times because I FACE THE SUN AND GREET IT WITH A SMILE. They must’ve thought that I was going crazy or if I’m a mental patient that got out for the first time in a long time, but no. It reminded me of a song by Passenger, ‘Let Her Go’ and one line of its lyrics says:

You only miss the sun when it starts to snow.

So far over the past few weeks, I’ve been attending class and it’s great so far. I haven’t started on anything yet, AS USUAL. Because I’m the kind of person that gets all the ideas and organizes it at the last minute – well, to be fair at the last week, still a bad habit though. Then, I went shopping (AGAIN!!) and this time I spent three weeks worth of food budget ON CLOTHES. They’re all A NECESSITY though, right? I bought a coat, and a winter jacket (which IS a necessity). I might be telling myself this to keep myself from feeling guilty.

Oh, also I’ve joined this Entrepreneurial thing (I do not know if it’s an event, a competition, or what) and we were given £10 to maybe start-up a business or do fund raising events and our goal is to reach £700 per person to get to Milan in March. This is really exciting because I’ve never been to Milan! Plus, the experience we are gaining from this is really good.

Finally, as part of my shopping spree, I bought books as well (I’ll be updating my reading list). They’re at a reasonable price, no worries. Plus, knowledge is investment!

I guess that’s everything that I’ve been meaning to share. I know it’s not really useful information, but it’s my blog so yeah.

I’ll leave you with Jeremy Passion while I eat my carbonara pasta with smoked salmon.

I love this song just because.

TFIOS Movie Poster

I’ve been waiting for the movie trailer to come out since the other day. Finally saw it while I was in school – bad idea to watch the trailer while you’re in a public place – cause I was holding back tears! I tried to contain myself and I suffered in silence. I hope you guys don’t experience that! Lol. But if you haven’t seen the trailer, I BEG YOU, watch it. NOW. Lol

Anyway, even before the announcement that John Green was working on the movie for TFIOS, after reading the book, I was inspired to make my desktop background highlighting my favorite lines from the book.

I made it with Photoshop CS5, here it is:

Some things that you can’t help doing

I posted last December 3 that I would read one page or one poem a day from Lang Leav’s Love & Misadventure. There are times when an individual can’t help do something that they know they should not do. So, I hate to admit it, but I kind of cheated on that one. I have failed myself. I was supposed to STRICTLY follow that, and it shows I have no self control whatsoever.

Anyway, since it’s out there, I cheated, and I am now on the 39th page, it happens to be a poem I can really really relate to.

I turn away

and close my heart –

to the promise of love

that is luring.

For the past has taught

not to be caught,

in what is not worth pursuing –

To never do

the things I’ve done

that once had led

to my undoing.

Afraid To Love, Lang Leav

I guess it’s not just about loving that special someone. It’s really loving – in general. I like to be closed off, and sometimes keep myself from loving something – sometimes even just liking something – that I know can potentially hurt in the end. This is why I love things that I know cannot hurt me, such as loving books, music, and celebrities – because they make you happy but you don’t expect them to love you back. It may sound a little, I don’t know – sad? I guess, I’m just not a huge fan of getting hurt, I mean who is?

So, that was my way of avoiding things that can potentially make me happy but I get so scared that I run away from it in the end. An individual’s heart can only take so much pain.

So here’s a song that I’ve been obsessing from the day I heard it on The Voice.

Enjoy!

Lang Leav A Day

Yes, I have finally gotten myself a copy of Lang Leav’s Love & Misadventure. It is a thin book compared to the books I usually read because it is composed of lovely and truthful poems. So what I plan to do it just read one poem per day – strictly just one. It is so tempting to read them all because of how good everything is, but it has to be strictly followed, to keep it interesting and all.

I’m actually blogging in school right now, that’s how demotivated I am in class right now. Lol

Christmas Wishlist

Love & Misadventure

1. Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav (P595.00, Fully Booked)

“What was it like to love him? Asked Gratitude.
It was like being exhumed, I answered, and brought to life in a flash of brilliance.

What was it like to be loved in return? Asked Joy.
It was like being seen after a perpetual darkness, I replied. To be heard after a lifetime of silence.

What was it like to lose him? Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded:

It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me—said all at once.”

I’ve been wanting to get a copy of Love & Misadventure since last month. Having low funds and an increase in my expenses – meaning, the Two Door Cinema Club concert which was cancelled by the way, I couldn’t afford to get a copy at the time. So for this Christmas, I’ll get a copy of this.

2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (P430.00, Fully Booked)

Fangirl

3.  Blankets, Craig Thompson (P1498.00, Fully Booked)

Blankets

4. ‘To Do’ Folder & Now, Later – stick notes set (P399.00 & P540.00, Fully Booked)

Fully Booked items

I’ve actually computed everything, and it sums up at about P3,500.00 or more – since I’ve added stuff I haven’t listed down before, I know costly, but I like books, and it’s CHRISTMAS. It is not a crime to spend so much on books. Lol

Well, that is it, 27 more days til Christmas!

Cheers!

Halloween Reading list

Halloween time again.

So for this halloween, I’ve set a reading list that will be like my little celebration of halloween. How introvert can I be?

I’ve just never been one of those people who likes to dress up on halloween, or dress up for that matter. I’m more of a casual person. Anyway, as I was saying, I’ve never ‘liked’ to prepare too much for halloween. I don’t know why, yes I am sort of lame, but I just don’t. So instead, I’m going to read the following:

The Mortal Instruments City Of Bones, Cassandra Clare – currently reading this one because it’s a long one. I can’t seem to find book 2 and 3 anywhere ever since the movie came out. The movie was good too, it’s just that I liked certain scenes in the book that would’ve been nice to see in the movie.

Next one is Carrie by Stephen King, and yes the movie is out as well, but I haven’t seen it. I’m really determined to finish the book before watching the movie. No spoilers!

And that ends the reading list. It’s not much because we don’t really get a time off from school. It’s just about 3 days, such an inconvenience, I know. Kidding. It’s enough I guess. Christmas is coming soon anyhow.
