Love & Misadventure

1. Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav (P595.00, Fully Booked)

“What was it like to love him? Asked Gratitude.
It was like being exhumed, I answered, and brought to life in a flash of brilliance.

What was it like to be loved in return? Asked Joy.
It was like being seen after a perpetual darkness, I replied. To be heard after a lifetime of silence.

What was it like to lose him? Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded:

It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me—said all at once.”

I’ve been wanting to get a copy of Love & Misadventure since last month. Having low funds and an increase in my expenses – meaning, the Two Door Cinema Club concert which was cancelled by the way, I couldn’t afford to get a copy at the time. So for this Christmas, I’ll get a copy of this.

2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (P430.00, Fully Booked)

Fangirl

3.  Blankets, Craig Thompson (P1498.00, Fully Booked)

Blankets

4. ‘To Do’ Folder & Now, Later – stick notes set (P399.00 & P540.00, Fully Booked)

Fully Booked items

I’ve actually computed everything, and it sums up at about P3,500.00 or more – since I’ve added stuff I haven’t listed down before, I know costly, but I like books, and it’s CHRISTMAS. It is not a crime to spend so much on books. Lol

Well, that is it, 27 more days til Christmas!

Cheers!

Student Diaries: Entry 1

Today was one of those days wherein I don’t even know what I am supposed to do. It was like my mind today was in hibernate mode and it did not want to wake up for the classes today. Overall, it was a lazy-but-a-little-productive day.

Although, there’s this one class today that is interesting. The downside to it is that the professor is so demotivating, half of the class do not go to his class anymore, and it is a very depressing scene.

I am eager to learn as much as I can, but with that kind of professor, I’d rather manage my own learning. He is like the number one thing that is bumming me out of school lately. My block mates and other professors are shocked with my recent absenteeism because they know that I am a good student, well at least I try to be, I mean I go to class everyday – okay, an exaggeration, I’m not present ALL THE TIME, but I’m not absent ALL THE TIME either.

See, there are people who cannot stand to be locked up in four concrete walls and listen to lectures for 3 hours. They need to be freed. Active people don’t learn in a lecture room, they learn when they have a learning experience. I may not be an activist, but it is better to be out there getting real life experiences than having to bear with the most demotivating professor in the world – again, an exaggeration, but who knows, and be locked up in a lecture room for three excruciating hours. The last thirty minutes of class this morning was the worst, and the slowest minutes of my schooling life. Plus, he keeps on repeating stuff, without explaining it. The topics of Sales Planning is TOO BROAD, and he is stuck with ‘characteristics of a Salesperson.’ He hasn’t even made a new powerpoint because it is the same lecture as the week before, and the week before that. Excruciating.

Anyway, enough with the ranting. First term paper for his subject is due tomorrow.

Good day!

Song #15: Chocolate

Fair warning, the lead vocalist of this great indie rock/alternative band has this really thick english accent, so you might want to search for the lyrics. It’s what I had to do and found out that what I thought I heard “mexico” pronounced as a real mexican person was actually “petticoat,” which would have been awkward if you sang it in a public place. Lol

I have to admit though, the song is pretty nice. Teenage stuff, rebellion, crazy love, and things that an individual should not do. It’s all sort of exciting, not that I am encouraging this. It’s probably just saying that live life as much as possible, without fear.

Okay, not making sense again.
Anyway, here’s The 1975 with Chocolate.

Cheers!

Daily Prompt: Play Time

From : Daily Post

When I was a kid, or should I say during my generation as a kid, there was no time of the day that we were inside the house playing the gifts of technology that kids nowadays have. We preferred to play outside, with loads of different things that surrounded us back then.

I’m glad that I was able to influence my brothers in being very active and enjoying outdoor activities.

So for me, my play time is whenever my brothers are playing, and I am there to capture those moments.

20 Things (3 years ago)

As I was exploring my Facebook account, a post in my notes section got my attention.

Three years ago, when people on Facebook post notes, it was usually one of those viral notes wherein you have to tag a certain number people, and those who were tagged have to repost the post but including their perspective or thoughts of things. It depends on the post.

So moving on, I saw this post titled “20 things” wherein you have to write 20 things or 20 characteristics and qualities of your ideal person and tag 30 people.

Here is the post:

” Rules: once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 20 things that you prefer for that special someone. At the end, choose 30 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you. To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 20 things, tag 30 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.”

uhhhm 1-20 taylor lautner? haha! just kidding! =D

1…loves music alot

2…deep and meaningful eyes (blue eyes? :)))

3…super down to earth and passionate

4…a musician maybe? or a soccer player? ^-^

5…taller than me, at least a year older to me too :)

6…accepts who i am and my flaws

7…shows he cares, not just by words, action speaks louder than words

8…knows how to make me laugh when i don’t even want to smile

9…doesn’t make me change for HIS benefits

10…doesn’t need to do grand things to impress me, efforts are enough :))

11…not afraid to be himself around me, be childish or mature.

12…adventurous, spontaneous, simple

13…someone who makes my heart ache in a good way

14…watch chick flicks with me

15…tolerates my crying over love stories, haha.

16…calls a girl beautiful instead of hot.

17…he can be ANYWHERE in the world but CHOOSES to be with me

18…fits like a puzzle in my life

19…opens my mind and heart to things I’ve never seen

and lastly,

20…someone who’s not strong enough to let me go

Okay, I know, it is probably too cheesy and too romance-movie inspired. What can I say? I wrote this three years ago, I was 17 then. Those were the days when I truly believed in romantic movies and I think it is pretty evident that I was constructing my ideal person based on different romantic movie characters, which is a sad sad thing to do. It was too late when I found out that you can’t have it all, which is also great because it would make people accept one another.

So that is it. It’s really amazing how I seemed inspired about these things back then, but now, I don’t believe in those things anymore. I mean, sure romantic-comedy movies are great, when you see it but it’s not real. It’s more of a wishful thing. I’m glad though that others still believe in “true love” and “destiny” and stuff like that.

Cheers!

November, Stress Month

Second term of this school year, a tough one.

Being a student in Southville Foreign University, even tougher, in a good way.

The subjects, the professors, and even the non-academic activities in school right now challenges a students’ skills and competencies. It tests the students on how they handle responsibilities, how they manage their time, how organized and effective the students are, and the more importantly, the quality of work the student does.

SFU actually creates a learning environment which is close to a “real work” experience. It is the institution’s way of preparing its students to be globally competitive and globally competent.

Right now, I have about five or six more term papers.

Marketing Planning: 0/2 submitted

Sales Planning and Operations Management: 0/2 submitted

Managing Business Activities To Achieve Results: 1/2 submitted

Managing Communications, Knowledge & Information: 1/2 submitted

Personally, I find Marketing Planning interesting. Just last meeting our professor showed us powerful marketing videos that would appeal to most customers, and he also showed us a video about Inbound Marketing vs. Outbound Marketing:

Marketing, today, is about the product being in the lives of the customers. It is about experiences being built around the product for it to have an impact on the customers. A great example of this is Coca-Cola as we have discussed in class. Coca-Cola is remembered by its catch phrase “Open Happiness” due to the fact that whenever there are celebrations and merriment, there is a bottle of coke. Thus, it makes a connection to the emotional side of the customers.

Anyway, I have to continue working on my Marketing Planning and finish it today. There’s an upcoming Marketing Competition that I would like to join with my block mates. We have to be able to focus on that. We have to dedicate our time and knowledge on that particular competition.

Just wanted to share what we have done for the Second Term so far, plus I need something to motivate me in continuously working on the term papers, this is one of my motivators.

Cheers!
