Pizza Was Supposed to Comfort Me

My friend and I attempted to finish our assessments in a cafe earlier, as it turns out a change in scenery doesn’t help much if you are not really interested in doing it. I don’t even know why I lack the motivation to do it. It’s not because I’m home sick, is it? It cannot be the reason.

Anyway, so on our way back to our dorm, we got pizza and wine to help us, even just a little. However, it did not work. I still haven’t started on any of the remaining three papers I need to do and I only have two days – that is if I don’t sleep AT ALL.

I just don’t see how I am going to start the assessment. Since the practice and method here is self study, I feel like there is no structure to what I am doing. I don’t really know what they are looking for in my paper, so again, my mind has a million different ideas, I just don’t know how to structure it. As you can probably tell from my blogs, I’m not the best story teller.

Back to work, I guess.

Two Large Cups Of Coffee And Titles Like FOB Songs

This is a random post.

I’ve had a total of four large cups of coffee (size reference: Starbucks’ sizes, only my large cup is a Grande size, Venti is just, I don’t even know if it is normal people large or big foot size large – if that made sense) in a span of three days because of all the assessments. However, as my title implies, I’ve had two large cups on my first day in an attempt to finish at least half of the work load – miserably failed.

It turns out that gulping down two large cups of coffee does not contribute to productivity! Now beware or be aware you guys. I do believe that it helps productivity as it gives you energy, but as the old saying goes – too much of anything is never good. So in the hopes of getting my energy up and productivity up, I ended up so energized I almost palpitated at times. It was almost as if I injected ADHD into my veins or I took drugs. I couldn’t stay put, my thoughts was going flying away into a million different directions that I cannot focus on the task at hand. I ended up wasting most of my time trying so hard to stay put.

So it was 8 in the morning, I had stayed up all night but the energy is still there and the only way to get rid of with was to do a physical activity. I went to the library – from my house to the library it would take up about 10 minutes walk – and searched for more materials to finish my paper. It’s my fourth day now of attempting to finish ONE PAPER. I am almost done though, it only took me four cups of coffee and a whole lot of reading.

So the lesson? Take drugs instead. HAHAHA, NO I AM KIDDING!

The lesson is to try and avoid procrastinating. Avoiding procrastination to me is such an obstacle I feel the need to create a special rehabilitation group for procrastinators (or does it exist?) Well, that and avoid using coffee to get productive. The best way to be productive I guess is to STOP BEING A LAZY BUM, KASH.

That’s all I wanted to randomly share. It’s a good experience too because I’ve never had trouble procrastinating before – weirdly, and in a sense that only makes sense to me right now (or if it makes sense to any one else, you are not alone).

Yeah, bye for now. Leaving you once again with another song. My go to channel for relaxing while studying: The Vibe Guide (https://www.youtube.com/user/thvbgd)

2015

It’s a new year and I still forget to post at least once a week! *laughs* Blogging is really something you need to put time and effort on, I guess. And maybe, I’ll have more time once I’ve finished Uni and gotten a boring ol’ job in an office with a desk, and this will be my outlet for innovative ideas and thoughts.

Anyway, enough about that. So for 2015, I have started the oh-so-famous 365 days of Happiness, on my Instagram account mainly. And I’ve had an incredible start of 2015 as we were on a trip in London!

My friends and I got to see most of the sites that people crowd and line up for, and since it was a holiday, there were a lot, LIKE A LOT, of people from different countries and cultures but all wanting to do the same thing – sightseeing.

On our first day – which was 31 of December by the way, we familiarized our selves first with the tube. It was crazy confusing because they had a lot of tube lines from one point to another, having exchanges from one point to another as well. But I must say, the system in London for tube lines are great. It is color coded, labeled well, and there are maps provided on each station. We mainly used tube lines and undergrounds more than any other transportation because well, we didn’t know how. :’)

If you are planning to go to London for a long vacation, say a week or so, then I suggest you get a London Pass (all details here: http://www.londonpass.com/?aid=238&gclid=CMWRqcjygcMCFQHJtAodGQ8AYQ) because it would save you the trouble of queueing for a ticket and the queueing for the actual ride, and it would probably save you from costs as well. While you are at it, might as well get an Oyster Card for the Tube, Tram, Buses, and many more different transportation available for this card (all details here:https://account.tfl.gov.uk/oyster?App=8ead5cf4-4624-4389-b90c-b1fd1937bf1f&returnURL=https://oyster.tfl.gov.uk/oyster/security_check). It has a £5 deposit – which you can get back once you return the card, and you can easily load it up on any station.

If you are planning to go for a short period of time, then I suggest you weigh your options on getting an Oyster Card against getting an All Day Rider – unlimited all day travel. See, what we did was to get an Oyster Card even if we stayed for only four (4) days because we mainly walked around the city to see more of the sights, and to save on transportation as well.

So, yeah, we got to see a lot of places because we made a roadmap on what to see first and how to roam around without having additional costs. See the map below:

We encircled the ones we wanted to see first and then we tried to see the other places that we were not able to see. Unfortunately, four days wasn’t really enough for a London Tour.

The highlight of the trip was probably the London Eye Experience. We rode the London Eye at night and the view of the city was just absolutely breath-taking. I did not have my camera with me so my phone had to do.

So that’s how I spent my holidays. It was quite expensive but every penny worth it.
